Along the highways of India you will find many ढाबा (dhaba): roadside restaurants servicing mainly truckers. One small town in particular, Murthal, has become renowned for its dhabas, some of which are now packed with visitors 24/7.

Bonus:
The road on which Murthal lies is a section of the Grand Trunk Road, one of the oldest and longest roads in Asia. It continues from Afghanistan to Bangladesh.

Bonus 2:
Along this road lie many ancient pillars, erected by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC. These 'Pillars of Ashoka' were all topped with animal sculptures. Of those which remain intact, one consisting of four lion became the most famous, and now constitutes India's national emblem.
