Near the town of Waregem, to the west of Ghent, a large statue of a naked cyclops was erected by a local artist. The cyclops has been a subject of controversy amongst locals. Many complained that it should be covered, and sometimes pants or a leaf have appeared to hide its naughty bits. In 2012 the statue was burned down by vandals, however a new one was soon standing tall. It seems that, despite the controversy, the nudist cyclops is there to stay.
